Privacy & Security Commitment
Privacy Policy
Last Updated: July 2026
1. Our Zero-Knowledge Client-Side Architecture
At UR PDF Editor (https://urpdfeditor.com), we believe that your documents belong strictly to you. Unlike traditional online PDF utilities that upload your sensitive documents to cloud servers for processing, UR PDF Editor operates using a 100% client-side WebAssembly and JavaScript architecture.
When you select, drag, or edit a PDF document on our platform, all parsing, text rendering, whiteout redaction, page merging, page splitting, and password encryption take place locally within your web browser’s memory sandbox. Your files are never transmitted to our servers or any third-party infrastructure.
2. Data Collection and Usage
Because your PDF files remain exclusively on your device, we do not inspect, log, store, sell, or analyze your document contents, metadata, text layers, or uploaded images.
- Document Files: Zero server uploads. Documents exist temporarily in your local browser memory and are wiped when you close or refresh the tab.
- Account Information: UR PDF Editor is a free service with no sign-up required. We do not collect usernames, passwords, or personal profile details.
- Local Storage: We use your browser's `localStorage` solely to store your UI theme preference (Light or Dark mode). No document data is stored in `localStorage`.
3. Browser Security Sandbox & Local Processing
Our application leverages standard web technologies (`pdf.js` and `pdf-lib`) running directly in your browser JavaScript engine. This guarantees that your sensitive tax forms, legal contracts, medical reports, and financial records never travel over the public internet.
4. Third-Party Analytics and Cookies
We do not use invasive tracking cookies or cross-site tracking scripts to monitor your browsing behavior across the web. Anonymous, aggregated server access logs (such as HTTP request counts and browser type) may be generated by content delivery networks (CDNs) strictly for service stability, DDoS mitigation, and bandwidth monitoring.
5. External Links and Scripts
Our platform loads standard open-source library assets via trusted CDNs (jsDelivr and Cloudflare CDN) for client-side JavaScript execution. These scripts contain standard open-source utility libraries and do not harvest user data.
6. Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect new browser security standards or application features. Any updates will be published on this page with a revised "Last Updated" timestamp.
7. Contact Us Regarding Privacy
